Today was another breathtaking day, walking in the cool, overcast weather along the cliffs in this stunning part of the trail. I wasn’t sure about stops along the way for food, so despite being up early I decided to wait until 7:30am for the bakery to open to get a snack for the day. I knew today was only going to be a short day anyway (if you can call almost 20km short – haha!)

The path has now become nearly deserted, and I found myself often walking alone, surrounded by the peacefulness of the towering cliffs. The steep climbs and descents have become effortless, thanks to the physical and mental strength I’ve gained over the past weeks.
There was one section that I absolutely hated, I hated it so much I took a photo! It was just normal forrest appearance, but I was likely the first one to walk through that day and found myself clearing thousands of spider webs. I had to stop every 10 minutes to swat them off my arms. Using my poles to clear them did not seem to be enough. Luckily for me, I eventually passed two men hiking in the reverse direction, meaning they had cleared the remaining spider webs for me! Also luckily for me (and everyone’s eardrums within a 100km radius of me) I didn’t find any spiders on me.

Once again, the views were absolutely amazing today. Even though the paths were a bit rocky in places, requiring extra caution, I hardly paid attention due to the beauty as I looked up!

I took a break for a snack while sitting on a quiet bench overlooking the valley. It’s the simple pleasures of this journey that have come to bring me so much joy!

We reached Cabrerets early, a charming small town nestled against the cliffs.

We decided to stay in a hotel in the town, that had a pool and was sitting right on the lake. We were able to fully clean out our bags and have an early and restful night.

Although today was short, and I have not said much about it – my heart was very full thanks for another beautiful day in the Cele Valley with amazing views.
